Evolution of the National Hockey League

From the Montreal Canadiens in 1909 to the Utah Mammoth in 2024, this hand-drawn artwork captures the remarkable evolution of the League, from the Original Six to today’s 32 teams. Originally illustrated entirely in colored pencil by artist Chandler Withington, the piece features 60 team logos arranged chronologically to show when each team entered the league and how franchises have evolved or relocated through history.

This unframed 24x36-inch print comes hand-signed by the artist, Chandler Withington.

Updated 2025 Edition: Now includes several historically significant logos that were not previously approved for use such as the Arizona Coyotes, Atlanta Thrashers, Toronto Arenas, Toronto St. Pats, Oakland Seals, Cleveland Barons, Montreal Maroons, and New York Americans.

Note: Due to continued copyright restrictions, the artwork does not yet include the original Ottawa Senators, St. Louis Eagles, Philadelphia Quakers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Quebec Bulldogs, Montreal Wanderers, or Hamilton Tigers.
